Day 1: Here We Go

This is one of those blogs, where I have set out to improve myself. Whether anyone out there is listening and viewing or not, I still plan on posting. As a student majoring in industrial design i am learning how important sketching is. I have always thought of myself as an artist, and have enjoyed sketching, but once I began "industrial design" sketching reality hit me in the face. After several sketching classes, and a plethora of bad critiques I've come to the conclusion that the only way to improve is to sketch. No one can teach me how to sketch, finding my hand will have to come from me. As of now I find myself getting discouraged, as I imagine drawings in my head I can never pull them onto paper and create an engaging exciting sketch. This discouragement has made sketching painful for me, something I used to consider myself talent at has now become one of my biggest downfalls as a designer. So here it is, "The Goal", I'm setting out to add an hour of free sketching to my day. Free meaning outside of sketching for school and work. The sketch content doesn't matter the idea is to improve and learn to love sketching again.

To start off today, i'm posting a few of my previously done sketches. This is where I am, now the better question, where am I going?
